How To Throw Knives

The ability to throw knives can be very useful and has surprisingly many uses. Not only knives can be thrown, but usually anything pointy can be thrown. Continue reading to find out how.

Whether it be for personal or land defense, sport, or just a hobby, throwing knives can be useful. Anything with a sharp point or end can be thrown, not only knives. It is actually fairly simple to do as well.

Step 1: loosely hold the blade in your dominant hand with the sharp edge facing away from your hand. Place your fingers on the sides of the blade, not covering or above the edge. The handle should face towards your target.
Step 2: place your non-dominant foot in front in a comfortable but stable stance
Step 3: draw the blade slightly behind your ear, with the blade facing backwards
Step 4: throw your arm forward and allow the knife to glide out of your hand. DO NOT FLICK YOUR WRIST. If you do, the blade will rotate more quickly and you will not get the result you wished for.
Step 5: results

There is a simple formula that will help know the correct distance to stand from your target. To make it simple, a 1 foot long blade will make one full rotation every 6 feet. Shorter knives will have shorter rotation distances and longer knives will have longer rotation distances. For the 1 foot long knife, stand roughly 6 feet from your target to get the best impact.
