YES! All aboard the Hype Train. Elon Musk's new innovation in transportation is here! Continued below.
Well, sorta.
Elon Musk, creator of the Tesla brand of cars, as well as the future starter SpaceX, released his design of the "Hyperloop," as he calls it. Did I mention that he released it for free to everyone? No? Well, here you go: this is a link to the design. He did this because he didn't have time to create it and just wanted to help progress humanity without profit.
According to Gismodo, here is the link, the brand-new train design is in progress by several companies. Some of these companies are Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, Hyperloop One, MIT Hyperloop, and SpaceX, even though Musk said he wasn't interested in making one. When can we expect one? Nothing has been said by any of these companies yet, but most of them have at least some sort of test track. The Hyperloop is essentially an electromagnetic levitation train in a sealed tube to decrease wind resistance. However, it is possible to decrease the pressure in front of the train and increase the pressure behind the train to accelerate it even faster, similar to one of the vacuum tubes that are used in offices and pharmacies to send things from place to place. We could expect to see one of these fancy trains in places like California and some European countries.
What do you think? Would you ride a train in an enclosed track at several hundred miles an hour across a country? Let me know in the comments and share and discuss.
